Transplantation

If my body reacts well to the treatments then an allogeneic stem cell transplantation (in this case the stem cells come from another person) is still ahead of me. I've already gone through an autologous stem cell transplantation (in this case the stem cells come from me), it was done in December 2008. Now that was something...! However this is much more risky than the autologous transplant was. Unfortunately I don't have a brother or sister, nor another relative who could be a compatible donor (Mum's also incompatible, even though she would give her own life to save mine, she can't). Finding a compatible donor takes a period of anywhere between 3 months and 1 year.
